A Overview

A new public library building.

The new Scott-Sebastian Regional Library replaces a 5,700 square foot building from 1965 on Adair Road with a single-story, roughly 10,400 square foot library on a two-acre site at the entrance to Greenwood, donated by Jacob Burton. MAHG Architecture of Fort Smith designed it with a community room, children's and teen areas, study rooms, staff offices, and an outdoor plaza. The library serves Greenwood, Lavaca, Hackett, Bonanza, Witcherville, Huntington, Mansfield, and Hartford.

Covenant Commercial Construction is the general contractor on the project, which is in progress at a contract value of $4.2M.

The project was estimated at $4.3 million, with the City of Greenwood contributing $180,000 for water infrastructure. Ground broke on June 18, 2025, and the final beam was lifted into place in October 2025.
