B What we collect and why
Three things, each with a reason.
1. What you send through the contact form
The form on our contact page has two modes. A general inquiry asks for your name, company, email, phone, project type, project location, target start, budget range, company website, and a message. A career inquiry asks for your name, email, phone, a message, and a resume (PDF or Word). We use what you send to reply to you, to understand your project or your background, and to keep a record of the conversation.
Submissions are processed and stored by Netlify, the company that hosts this website, and a copy is emailed to our team mailbox. A resume you upload is held by Netlify and reaches our team as a link in that email. Netlify also runs a spam check on every submission.
Resumes are kept for hiring consideration while the position is open. When the position closes, we remove them. If you would rather we remove yours sooner, email us and we will.
2. How the site is used
We use Google Analytics 4 to see how many people visit, which pages they read, and how they found us (a search, a link, an ad). Google Analytics sets cookies in your browser and collects your device type, browser, approximate location from your IP address, and the pages you view. Google Analytics does not store your full IP address. We use these reports to make the site more useful and to see whether our marketing works.
When we run advertising or recruiting campaigns, we may add measurement code from the advertising platform we use, such as Google Ads or Meta, so we can tell whether an ad led to a visit, an inquiry, or an application. That code sets cookies from the platform that provided it. When we add one, we will name it on this page.
3. Standard server records
Like every website, ours keeps ordinary server logs: the IP address, browser, and pages requested for each visit. Netlify keeps these for security and to keep the site running. The typefaces on this site load from Google Fonts, so your browser also requests those files from Google's servers, which see your IP address in the process.
C Cookies
A few, and you control them.
This site does not show a cookie banner. The cookies it sets come from Google Analytics and, during a campaign, from the advertising platform named above. None of them are needed for the site to work. You can block or clear cookies in your browser settings, and you can turn off Google Analytics everywhere with Google's opt-out browser add-on. Our site does not change its behavior in response to Do Not Track signals.
D Who handles your information
Our providers, and nobody else.
Netlify hosts the site and stores form submissions. Google provides analytics and, when a campaign runs, advertising measurement. Microsoft 365 runs the mailbox where your inquiry lands. Each of them handles your information on our behalf, under their own privacy terms. We do not sell personal information and we do not share it with anyone outside these providers unless the law requires it.
E How long we keep it
As long as it is useful, then no longer.
Inquiries stay in our mailbox and in Netlify's form records for as long as we need them to handle your project or keep a record of our work together. Resumes are removed when the position closes, as above. Analytics data is kept by Google for 14 months in a form that cannot identify you.
F Your choices
Ask, and we will act.
- Ask what we hold about you, and we will tell you.
- Ask us to correct or remove it, and we will, unless we are required to keep it.
- Block cookies or use the Google Analytics opt-out add-on to stay out of our analytics.
